Thunder Bay isolation and illness shelters: Protecting those most vulnerable

The Challenge

Those experiencing homelessness in Thunder Bay are especially vulnerable in the face of COVID-19. Physical distancing has meant that not as many people can be served in one location as in the past. Individuals who are experiencing homelessness have no means to self-isolate. The community needed to rapidly increase screening measures and create a safe isolated space for those exposed, probable or confirmed of having COVID-19.
