Pronoun and Language Guidelines for Trans-Affirming Workplaces in the Mental Health and Addictions Sector

This guide is designed to help mental health and addictions organizations create safer and more inclusive spaces for trans staff, volunteers, service users, and community members people. It includes current terminology and pronouns, consideration of overlapping identities, and tips for the use of gender-inclusive language (language that doesn’t discriminate against a particular gender or gender identity).

This guide was developed by the Equity and Engagement team within the Provincial System Support Program (PSSP) at CAMH with support from the PSSP Knowledge Mobilization team.
